DewTalk (“DewTalk”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website https://dewtalk.com/community and related services (the “Service”) — a verified community platform where teachers share updates and students follow and engage with their teacher. 1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to run the Service:

Teacher account information: teacher name, logo, cover image, location (state, district, city), board/type, contact details (phone, WhatsApp, email, website, address), and content the teacher chooses to publish (posts, reels, photos, captions, highlights).
Student account information: name, mobile number, your profession and English goal — provided by you when you create an account so DewTalk can verify you.
Verification data: a one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile number via WhatsApp to confirm the number belongs to you.
Usage & device data: pages viewed, general interaction data, approximate referral source (e.g. whether you arrived from Facebook, Instagram, or directly), browser type, and similar analytics used to improve the Service.
Cookies: small identifiers to keep you signed in and to measure visits (see “Cookies & Analytics”).

We do not collect payment card details, government IDs, or precise GPS location.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and operate your teacher or student account.
To verify students so only genuine teacher-community members can comment and message.
To display teacher content in the feed, reels, and profiles.
To send account and verification messages (such as OTPs) via WhatsApp/SMS.
To understand how the Service is used and to improve performance, features, and safety.
To prevent spam, abuse, and unauthorized access, and to comply with law.

3. WhatsApp & OTP Messaging

We use WhatsApp to deliver a one-time verification code to the mobile number you provide. Your number is used only to send this code and essential account notifications. We do not send marketing messages without your consent, and you can ask us to stop non-essential messages at any time.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

With the teacher you connect to — a student’s name, profession, and mobile number are shared with the chosen teacher so it can verify and communicate with you.
With service providers — trusted vendors that host our servers or deliver messages (e.g. WhatsApp/Meta for OTP delivery), only to perform services for us.
For legal reasons — if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and a lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics system to count visits and understand which pages and traffic sources are popular. This helps us improve the Service. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended.

6. Children’s Privacy

The DewTalk community is intended for adults — English teachers and working professionals (18+). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Photos or videos are published by the teachers themselves, who are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from anyone featured. If you believe content involving a minor appears on the Service, please contact us and we will review and act promptly.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond quickly to any issues.
